A handheldapparatus with a user interface which can be controlled by a left-handed or right-handedoperator, the handheld apparatus comprising: a display screen for displaying a set ofparameters for an operator; wherein, for a left-handed operator, the set of parametersare displayed on the display screen in a way that is practical for the left-handed operatorand for a right-handed operator, the set of parameters are displayed on the displayscreen in a way that is practical for the right-handed operator.
