摘要：Ethylene polymers having a swelling index of at least 1.4, a resistance tocracking under load (ESCR) of at least 55 h and a melt index (M15) of at least 0.2 g/10min.., Pref. the ethylene polymer may contain 0.1-10 wt.% of a comonomer chosen frombutene, hexene and mixt. of these. The swelling index is measured by extruding thepolymer at a constant rate at 190 degrees C and at a rate gradient of 100 sec.<-1>through a die 30 mm long and 2 mm dia. and measuring the displacement of the pistonnecessary to produce an extruded string 70 mm long, and calculating the swelling indexfrom the relationship. Swelling index - 0.5707 square root e in which e in the displacementof the piston in mm. The polymer pref. has a dynamic viscosity ( eta ) expressed in dPa.sand measured at 190 degrees C and a speed gradient of 100 sec.<-1> such that the ratio(log(17740/M15)-log eta )/(2 - log(2.53 x MI5) is at least 0.55, pref. at least 0.59 andpartic. at least 6.1. The polymer pref. have a density of 952-95B kg/m<3>.
