1．在条件句中的使用：1）三种形式

条件句

一般过去时 (be-were)过去完成

一般过去时或过去将

主句过去将来过去将来完成过去将来

与现在事实相反与过去事实相反与将来事实相反*

来（were to）(should)或(祈使句)（*）

If it should rain, don’t expect me. (万一)Should it rain, don’t…又如：

Should anyone call me when I am away, write down his name and address.注意：

1） if 的省略（were, had, should）2） 时间错综

If you had followed the doctor’s advice, you would be better now.3) 陈述语气的插入

If it were not for the fact that you are ill, I would ask you to do it right

now. 比较：

If it had been for the fact that you were ill, I would have asked you to do itthen.4)含蓄条件

Without (But for) your help, I would have failed. With favorable winds, we might have got there in two days. He would have given you more help, but he was so busy. 比较：

He would give you more help, but he is busy now.

-->He is busy now, or/otherwise he would give you more help.又如：

区别：insist(坚持认为); suggest（暗示） 2)it (is) +某些形容词（名词）that引导的从句： （建议；惊奇；惋惜等语气）

I think it (is) necessary/important…that you (should) attend the meeting. I was a pity/a shame/no wonder/strange…that you (should) be late. (竟然)(惊奇)

比较：It is strange that he did not come yesterday. (陈述)3．某些固定句型：

1）It is (high)time you went to bed.

或It is (high)time you should go to bed. I would rather you paid me now. I would rather you hadn’t done that. 2) wish, if only, as though (as if)引导从句

（过去的某种时态）It looks as if it might rain. (将来)He talks to me as if I were a child. (现在)He speaks English as if he had been the States.（过去）练习：
